Maungawhau Trig Beacon Removal
Affordable Group recently assisted in the removal of the trig beacon on the iconic Maungawhau (Mt Eden), a structure that had proudly stood for over 40 years.
Our Work
Trig stations are part of New Zealand’s geodetic measurement system that allows surveyors to accurately map and measure properties. Surveying is no longer heavily reliant on these purpose-built structures which are expensive to maintain so the decision has been made to dismantle it. End of an era for a well-loved Auckland landmark.
