Full encapsulation of an historical building
Affordable Group recently provided a full encapsulation for Old Choral Hall, a building of historical significance built in 1872. This allowed safe access to the roof and exterior without directly fixing to the building.
Our Work
The project presented several unique challenges. As a heritage building, no direct fixes could be made to the structure. Plus the intricate design of the Old Choral Hall required innovative engineered scaffolding solutions to ensure unimpeded access for all areas in need of repair while preserving the building’s integrity. And with two street-facing frontages, the site presented limited access points. Careful planning and precise execution were required to navigate the constraints effectively.
